Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

The Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) is an industry-led initiative launched by the Financial Stability Board in 2015. The TCFD was formed to develop a set of voluntary, consistent climate-related financial disclosures that companies can use when providing information to investors, lenders, and insurance companies. The TCFD is chaired by Michael R. Bloomberg and includes representatives from the finance, accounting, investor and corporate communities. The TCFD's recommendations provide a framework for companies to disclose information about climate-related risks and opportunities to help investors, lenders, and insurers evaluate them and consider them in their decisions.
