CDP (known as the Carbon Disclosure Project until the end of 2012) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to study the impact of climate change on the world's major publicly traded companies, the world and vice versa. It operates the global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage their environmental impact by persuading companies around the world to measure, manage, disclose and ultimately reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
